Benefits of Ayat Al-Kursi Ayat 255 of Surah Al-Baqarah, known as ‘Ayat Al-Kursi’, is also referred to as the ‘Leader of all Quranic Verses’.

This verse was revealed after the migration of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), accompanied by thousands of angels due to its greatness and magnificence. The devils and demons were also shaken because there was a barrier in their struggle. Therefore, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) immediately commanded Zaid bin Thabit (the scribe of the Quran) to write it down and spread it.

This verse is called ‘Ayat Kursi’ because it contains the word ‘KURSI’, which means ‘the Magnificent and Honorable Seat’. It symbolizes the greatness of God, encompassing the seven heavens and the seven earths.

The Wisdom of Ayat Al-Kursi (The Power of Allah)

Ayat Al-Kursi is the most noble verse in the Quran. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) instructed us to recite Surah Al-Kursi. The virtues and greatness of this verse have been explained in 99 hadiths narrated by Bukhari, Muslim, and others. Some of them are:

- Whoever recites Ayat Al-Kursi regularly is loved and protected by Allah, just as Allah protects Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
- Whoever performs ablution and recites Ayat Al-Kursi once, Allah will elevate their status by 40 degrees and send angels according to the number of letters in the verse to pray for the reciter until the Day of Judgment.
- Whoever recites Al-Kursi before leaving the house, Allah will send 70,000 angels to seek forgiveness and pray for them.
- Whoever consistently recites Ayat Al-Kursi, Allah will bestow countless blessings upon their household.
- Reciting Ayat Al-Kursi can alleviate anger, ward off disasters, and protect against the mischief of devils.
- Whoever recites it in times of distress, Allah will grant them assistance, and if someone is poor, they will become rich.
- Whoever returns home and recites Ayat Al-Kursi, Allah will remove all poverty from their sight.

They will receive guidance and direction from Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala.

They will be relieved of problems and difficulties, and their sustenance and aspirations will be made easy.

Whoever recites Ayat Al-Kursi with devotion after every obligatory prayer:

They will be under the protection of Allah until the next prayer and will be safeguarded from deception and the disturbance of Satan.
Allah will grant them the hearts of the grateful, reward them for their righteous deeds, and shower them with the mercy bestowed upon the prophets.
Allah will take their souls like those who fought alongside the prophets until they die as martyrs.
They will be protected from the harshness of the Angel of Death and resurrected with the Mujahideen who fought alongside the Prophets.
Allah Azza Wa Jalla will not prevent them from entering Paradise. They will be rewarded like the pious and receive the reward of the deeds of the Siddiqin (the truthful ones), that is, Paradise.

Whoever recites Ayat Al-Kursi when lying down to sleep:

Allah SWT appoints two angels to protect and guard them throughout their sleep until dawn.
Allah will open the doors of mercy for them until dawn and grant them a city of light according to the number of hairs on their body.
They will be protected from theft, fire, and drowning. Allah will grant them safety and their neighbors’ safety.
If the reciter passes away that night, they will be considered martyrs.

Those who practice reciting Ayat Al-Kursi will:

Receive the help and protection of Allah from the harassment and temptations of Satan.
Be protected from the intrusion of thieves. Ayat Al-Kursi will serve as a strong barrier to prevent thieves from entering their homes.
Allah will provide them with safety during their journeys.

Benefits of Ayat Al-Kursi according to many knowledgeable scholars include:
1. Sheikh Abul ‘Abas Al-Bunni explains: “Whoever recites Ayat Al-Kursi the number of times it has words (50 times), then blows on rainwater and drinks it, God willing, their intellect and understanding will be sharpened, and they will find it easier to acquire knowledge.
2. According to the book “Asraarul Mufidah,” whoever practices reciting Ayat Al-Kursi 18 times every day will, God willing, live a life of monotheism, have their heart opened to various wisdom, have their sustenance increased, and their status and dignity elevated. They will have an influential presence that earns them respect from everyone, and they will be protected from all disasters.
3. Sheikh Al-Bunni explains: Whoever recites Ayat Al-Kursi the number of times it has letters (170 letters), then, God willing, the Lord will assist them in all matters and fulfill all their needs. Their mind will be expanded, their sustenance will be granted, their sorrow will be alleviated, and they will be given what they seek.
4. Sheikh Buni explains: Whoever fears an enemy attack should draw a circle with a breath gesture while reciting Ayat Al-Kursi. Then they should enter the circle with their group, facing the enemy, while reciting Ayat Al-Kursi 50 times or 170 times. God willing, the enemy will not see them or cause them harm.
5. Sheikhul Kabir Muhyiddin Ibnul Arabi explains that whoever recites Ayat Al-Kursi 1,000 times a day and night for 40 days, by Allah, by the Messenger, and by the noble Quran, the Lord will open their spiritual vision, fulfill their intentions, and give them influence over people. 6. Imam Jaafar Shadiq stated: Whoever recites Ayat Al-Kursi once, Allah will keep away from them a thousand worldly difficulties, the smallest of which is poverty and destitution, and a thousand difficulties in the Hereafter, the smallest of which is the torment of Hell.
7. One Hindi scholar heard from one of his great teachers from Abi Lababah that reciting Ayat Al-Kursi seven times each day creates a defensive fortress of the Prophet Muhammad.
8. Whoever recites Ayat Al-Kursi before going to sleep, as Abdurrahman bin Auf explained, should recite it in the four corners of their house, hoping that it will become a guardian and protector against Satan.
9. Those who recite Ayat Al-Kursi seven times and recite the three Quls (Surah Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, and An-Nas) seven times after Friday prayers will, God willing, receive unexpected wisdom and virtues.
10. When moving to a new house, it is advisable to recite Ayat Al-Kursi 100 times on the first night of occupying the house. God willing, you and your family will be protected from both physical and spiritual disturbances.
11. Whoever recites Surah Al-Fatihah, Ayat Al-Kursi, and Surah Al-Nas, and blows it onto the center of children’s heads, will safeguard their well-being, facilitate receiving advice, and prevent them from lying.
12. Every man and woman (including wives) who recites Ayat Al-Kursi seven times before leaving the house or during any journey, except when intending to commit sins against Allah, will be protected from all evil coming from Satan, jinn, and humans, including:
  - Protection from sorcery, such as love spells (making someone love against their will), persecution (witchcraft), deception, and others related to jinn and Satan.
  - Protection from crimes like robbery, rape, theft, and street bullying.
  - Protection from road accidents while driving, punctured tires, and other road calamities.
    
    All the mentioned benefits and virtues will not occur without the permission of Allah, depending on our faith in Him, the wisdom of His words for those who believe and have taqwa (piety) towards Allah and His Messenger Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
